Greggs recalls frozen steak bakes over plastic fears

Packets of Greggs frozen steak bakes are being recalled as they may have been contaminated with small pieces of plastic.

Greggs says the plastic could make the steak bakes unsafe to eat.

While steak bakes are sold across the High Street, the frozen variety is only sold at Iceland.

No other Greggs products are known to be affected.

The affected packs have best before dates of 20 December 2020, 22 December 2020 and 23 December 2020, reports The Mirror.

Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all Iceland stores that stock this product.

The notices explain to customers why they're being recalled as well as what to do if you think you've bought some of them.

The Food Standards Agency said: "If you have bought the above Greggs product from Iceland, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the Iceland store from where it was bought for a full refund."

If you have any queries, Greggs said to contact its customer care team on 08081 473 447 or email getintouch@greggs.co.uk
