Greggs recall bakes over fears they may contain pieces of glass

Greggs is recalling some of its frozen bakes over fears that they may contain small pieces of green glass.

The popular bakery chain has issued a product recall on its Vegetable Bakes which are sold exclusively at Iceland in packs of two.

According to the The Food Standards Agency, the recall is due to the "possible presence of glass" which "makes this product unsafe to eat."

The bakes are exclusively sold in Iceland Stores and the recall does not affect the products sold in Greggs.

If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product).

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said the recall covers 310g packs of two vegetable bakes with best before dates of 15 August 2021, 28 August 2021, 11 September 2021, 12 September 2021 and 26 September 2021.

The FSA recall says: "If you have bought the above product do not eat it.

"Instead, return it to the Iceland store from where it was bought for a full refund. If you have any queries, please contact the customer careline on +44 080 8147 3447 or email getintouch@greggs.co.uk."
