Greggs have launched their much-anticipated vegan steak bake and goes on sale today.
The bakery chain's new vegan snack follows the huge success of its meatless sausage roll, which launched a year ago and has since then become one of Greggs' bestselling products.
Priced at only £1.55, the vegan steak bake is made up of dairy-free pastry, pieces of Quorn, onions and meat-free gravy.
Greggs is selling them at 1,300 shops across the country from today (January 2, 2020) before rolling them out to a further 700 shops on January 16th.
Commenting on the new vegan pastry, Greggs chief executive Roger Whiteside said: "Our Vegan Sausage Roll launch was a huge success and we've been working tirelessly to expand our vegan friendly offering and provide more delicious savoury food on-the-go options for people looking to reduce their meat intake.
"The launch of our Vegan Steak Bake is another key milestone on our journey to become our customers' favourite for food-on-the-go."
The release coincides with Veganuary this month, which sees Brits give up meat and dairy products.
The high street bakery giant has even launched a handy vegan steak bake finder to help you find your nearest store.
