Greggs is adding two new vegan options to its menu

Greggs is launching two new vegan meal options.

The bakery chain is releasing plant-based versions of sausage breakfast baps and ham and cheese baguettes.

According to insiders on the popular Instagram page Vegan Food UK, the two new options will be coming to stores very soon.

The social media page, which has more than 180,000 followers, posted images of the new treats online.

On one of the posts, the caption reads: “Our insiders tell us the new baguette is launching in the next week or two.

“Yes, it would appear that Greggs is indeed launching a vegan Ham and Cheeze Baguette."

And the second post included the caption: “Vegan Sausage Breakfast Rolls coming soon to Greggs."

The bakery chain has since confirmed the news to Metro online.

"Over the coming weeks we’ll be trialling our delicious Vegan Ham and Cheeze Baguette and Vegan Sausage Breakfast Roll in a very small number of shops, with a wider launch planned for later in the year," a spokesperson told the website.

The vegan sausage bap will be made with Quorn, while the ham and cheese baguette will include vegan cheddar cheese and Quorn.

It is yet to be confirmed which branches will be testing out the new options first, but it is expected that Greggs will announce a list of locations nearer to the time.
