Greggs 'illegal' sausage roll picture has customers up in arms

Greggs' iconic sausage roll has become the subject of tongue-in-cheek Twitter outrage after the bakery chain shared an unusual snap of the popular menu item.

The pastry giant responded to a tweet asking "What feels illegal but isn't?" with a photo of a sausage roll with a bite slap bang in the middle of it, and social media users were left raging.

The official Greggs Twitter account came under some harsh scrutiny after the offending photo showed the controversial way to eat the product, reports Manchester Evening News.

Regardless of whether you're a fan of the vegan version or the original meat roll, the majority of us eat it one end to the other.

Taking to Twitter, people expressed their shock and outrage.

@GalliumGoat said: "Greggs what the f-"

@willdoestweets said: "delete this"

@Jimmy_deVille said: "Dark times!"

While @TommoKelly said: "Reported." which prompted the bakery to respond with "Fair enough."

A fourth disgruntled social media user wrote: "Blocked."

So basically, if you take your first bite of a sausage roll in the middle, maybe keep it to yourself.
