Greggs has confirmed it is set to reopen an "increased number" of restaurants, much to the delight of its loyal fans - although it's not yet clear which branches will be included.
The chain, which previously changed its mind about reopening over fears of drawing large crowds, has now carried out a successful trial at selected shops in Newcastle.
The company had been testing plans on how to open safely with new processes and social distancing in place and, as part of the trial, made some Greggs favourites available for delivery through Just Eat.
According to the Sun, Greggs is set to open 800 branches within a number of weeks - while the company would not confirm this, a spokesperson said it plans to open an "increased number of shops from mid-June".
A spokesperson said: "We have planned and delivered robust shop trials using our new operational safety measures and they have progressed well, allowing us to now move to open an increased number of our shops from mid-June."

The chain will follow in the footsteps of other foodie favourites, including Nando's which opened for collection at one Edinburgh restaurant today.
Elsewhere in the capital, customers waited in long queues for Costa Coffee after branches reopened for takeaway, Starbucks has also reopened for drive-thru and takeaway, while McDonald's is set to reopen its drive-thrus next month.
