Police are hunting a man who caused more than £2,000-worth of damage to a Greggs bakery after dropping a £1 coin behind the counter.
The customer became aggressive when staff were unable to retrieve the cash at the shop in Christchurch, Dorset.
He then “began ripping the counter apart” in an attempt to reach his money, before leaving the store, according to Dorset Police.
Officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they want to question over the damage.
“Following enquiries into this incident, I have obtained CCTV images of a man I would like to speak to,” said PC Kelly Cole, of East Dorset police.
“I would urge anyone with information about his identity to please get in touch.”
Dorset Police are investigating an allegation of criminal damage in relation to the incident.
The force said in a statement: “At 4.41pm on Saturday 28 December 2019 a man entered Greggs bakery on Saxon Square.
“He became aggressive towards staff when a £1 coin was dropped behind the counter that staff could not retrieve.
“The man then began ripping the counter apart, causing over £2,000 in damage.”
