When it comes to Christmas , there are certain things which are undeniable staples. Greggs ' Festive Bake is one of those staples, and to be quite honest, until you've had one it's just not Christmas.
Luckily the wait for this year's bakes is nearly over, as Greggs has confirmed that the delicious bundle of pastry goodness will be returning to stores on Thursday 7 November. What a time to be alive.
But the good news doesn't stop there, as Manchester could be lucky enough to stock the Festive Bake before other UK cities - all thanks to a competition being run by Greggs,
The website reads: "It’s official. We’re starting Christmas early. How? By bringing the Festive Bake to five cities before the rest of the country. To vote, just choose from the twenty cities below who love Greggs the most. It’s that simple!
"If you fancy it, you can also nominate yourself as a Greggs Superfan, to be in with the chance of carrying the Festive Bake torch in your area."
Manchester is currently sitting third in the league table, meaning there's a strong chance we could see the Festive Bake returning before other UK cities.
Newcastle is topping the table at the moment, with Birmingham coming in second. London and Cardiff are ranking fourth and fifth respectively.
But because we're all winners here in Manchester, we all need to get voting to make sure we secure top spot - the only place Manchester should be in a competition involving pastry.
To cast your vote, head to Greggs' ChristmasStartsHere site and click the large red button which (shockingly) says 'Vote!'
All you'll need to is fill in some details and explain in no more than 500 characters why you'd be the ideal Greggs superfan to carry the Festive Bake torch in Manchester.
As well as being given the title of Greggs' biggest fan, if you win you'll also get a £100 gift card to spend in store for the next 12 months - just imagine all the pastry you can buy with that.
