Greggs confirms new date for Festive Bake and Vegan Festive Bake 2021 launch

Greggs is delaying the launch of its Festive Bakes.

The Festive Bake and the new Vegan Festive Bake were both set to be sold in Greggs around the country from November 4.

But the chain has now pushed the launch back into later in November. In a video posted on its social media pages, Greggs said "it will be worth the bake".

Greggs will launch a vegan version of its Festive Bake for the first time this year.

"Tis the season, 'tis the vegan," reads the text in the announcement video.

"They're coming: The Festive Bake and The Vegan Festive Bake."

The Festive Bake contains chicken breast, sage & onion stuffing and sweetcure bacon in a creamy sage and cranberry sauce. It is one of Greggs ' most popular seasonal items.

A vegan version of the Christmas treat has been rumoured for a while, following the success of Greggs' vegan sausage rolls and steak bakes.

Hannah Squirrell, customer director at Greggs, said: “The Festive Bake is the latest iconic Greggs Bake to receive a vegan-friendly makeover, and it retains all the classic Christmassy flavours of the original.

"There’s nothing better over the festive season than tucking into delicious Christmas food, and we’re confident that customers will love our latest tasty Bakes.”

When will the Greggs Festive Bake and Vegan Festive Bake go on sale?

Greggs says both the meat and vegan Festive Bakes will go on sale on Monday November 22, 2021.

They will be available in all Greggs stores across the UK, priced at £1.60.

What is the Vegan Festive Bake made out of?

Greggs says the Vegan Festive Bake is inspired by the original. Instead of chicken, the Vegan Festive Bake is filled with Quorn mycoprotein pieces, sage & onion stuffing and a vegan bacon crumb and finished with a sage cranberry sauce encased in dairy-free puff pastry.
