Greggs confirms plans to reopen UK stores

When lockdown came into place, many of our favourite restaurants and fast food shops took the decision to close.

While some have remained open for takeaway and delivery, others decided to shut shop completely.

Amongst those was Greggs, and despite the bakery chain releasing recipes to make some of its most popular products at home, people have been missing their sausage rolls and steak bakes.

Now Greggs has announced its plans to reopen, and will be trialling the opening of a few shops which will offer takeaway.

A spokesperson for the bakery chain told the Independent: "We want to play our part in getting the nation back up and running again so we are planning to conduct a limited trial with volunteers to explore how we can reopen our shops with new measures in place that will keep our colleagues and customers as safe as we can when we reopen at scale."

Greggs has not yet confirmed which stores will reopen, but we're crossing our fingers that Manchester will be on the list.
