Greggs confirms festive bake return date and launches vegan version

Everyone's favourite budget bakery has confirmed the date its festive bakes will return.

Greggs has also announced a long-awaited plant-based version of its much-loved Christmas pasty.

The original festive bake is stuffed with chicken, sage and onion stuffing, sweetcure bacon and both a creamy sage and a cranberry sauce.

The new vegan festive bake won't be too dissimilar, using Quorn pieces and a vegan bacon crumb, as well as a dairy-free pastry.

Greggs has already taken steps to offer more plant-based versions of its world-famous pastry goods, including vegan sausage rolls and vegan 'steak' bakes.

Both festive bakes will launch on November 4, Greggs confirmed this morning.

That means there's only three weeks to wait to get your hands on them.

People are understandably excited by the news, with one person writing on Twitter: "This is the best news I've ever had. Want to cry. Cannot wait for that sagey goodness."
