The arrival of Greggs’ Festive Bake is eagerly awaited by the people of Liverpool each year - and considered by some to be a symbol that the holiday season has arrived.
The bakery has begun its countdown to the return of the festive favourite, in an attempt to “save 2020”.
The popular pastry returns to stores on Thursday, November 5, which is two whole days earlier than last year.

Greggs confirmed the return on Twitter, in a post which read: “If anything can save 2020, it's the Festive Bake #79Days”.
The Festive Bake is made from succulent pieces of chicken breast, sage & onion stuffing and sweetcure bacon in a creamy sage and cranberry sauce - all wrapped in golden puff pastry with a crunchy crumb topping.
Fans are already going crazy over the news, with many tagging friends beneath Greggs’ tweet.
One person said: “Santa says...festive bakes are the very best!”.
Another said: “All I want for Christmas”, while a third added: “The countdown begins”.
And, a fourth said: “Would it be too much to start a petition for early release? It’s the only way 2020 can be saved.”
