Greggs brilliantly trolls Next over £18 cushion that looks like a steak bake

After the vegan sausage roll debacle earlier this year, we all know that Greggs social media team can dish it out with the best of them.

And by it, we mean the sass.

They've roasted Piers Morgan and made fun of their own customers - now they're back at it and their new target is Next.

The clothing and homeware store has been brilliantly trolled by the high street bakery chain and it's all because of an item currently for sale on their website.

Next are offering customers the chance to purchase an ochre-coloured velvet chevron cushion - and it looks rather a lot like one of Greggs' signature bakes.

Greggs vegan sausage roll on eBay for £12.50 - and people are actually bidding

The £18 cushion is being compared to a steak bake from Greggs, much to the delight of pastry fans.

The foodie company shared a screen grab of the cushion on Twitter , writing: "*Googles if it's okay to eat a cushion*".

Their post quickly went viral, garnering over 5,000 likes and almost 500 retweets.

Many people were quick to comment on the post, demanding that the chain start decorating their bakeries with the cushion.

One person wrote: "Please rename Stake Bakes to Velvet Chevrons."

Another said: "Pls say you're including these in your new store designs."

A third added: "This is the best thing I've ever seen."

The tweet went viral and there were some great replies (@GreggsOfficial/Twitter)

Man ate nothing but Greggs for six weeks - and managed to lose two stone

Others couldn't help but notice that the cushion design looked more like a cheese and onion bake than a steak one, because of the chevrons.

Steak bakes in comparison have a very different pattern on the top of the pastry case.

A user name Luke asked: "Surely this would be a cheese and onion bake bc it's chevrons not diagonal lines??"

To which Greggs fired back: "Ahhh... only our most elite, superfans can spot the clue Luke! Congrats on passing the test."

Next also responded to the tweet, writing: "Cushions for elvenses?"

But one person pointed out that you'd feel pretty "stuffed" if you tried to eat a bake that size.
