Gregg Wallace is 'worried' about mum and misses his son in lockdown

Gregg Wallace admitted he was 'worried' about his elderly mum Mary and missed 'arguing politics' with her during the coronavirus crisis.

The MasterChef presenter, 55, who is currently self-distancing with his wife and his in-laws, also explained that he was missing his son Tom, 26.

"I really miss my son, whose in Bristol, Tom, and I really miss my mum," Gregg said on Heart Breakfast.

The TV personality had called in to have a chat with radio hosts Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden during their weekday breakfast show.

Speaking about his elderly mum, Gregg said he was always ringing her to ensure she's ok.

"Although she’s only down the road, I mean I’m getting on a bit, and obviously she’s a lot older than me, and we’re worried about her so I’m on the phone, but I really miss her."

"I miss arguing politics with her and beating her at trivial pursuit, that’s what I miss."

Although he has nagged his mum to learn how to FaceTime, Gregg explained that she wasn't too keen.

"She won’t have it, we’re all nagging her and she’s like “no no, you lot are bored, if I learn how to do that, you’re going to be on the phone all the time.'”

He explained during the radio show that he had already been living with his wife's parents, Massimo and Rina, before the lockdown came into place.

"You don’t marry an Italian girl, you marry the whole family!” he joked.

Speaking to the Mirror in an earlier interview, Gregg said that his in-laws made great baby sitters and they were one big happy family.
