Greg Zuerlein sees room for improvement as he enters contract year

Even though they came up short in the biggest game of the year, the Los Angeles Rams still enjoyed an undeniably successful 2018 season. They overcame lengthy absences from Aqib Talib and Cooper Kupp, Todd Gurley’s knee injury toward the end of the year and still reached the Super Bowl after winning a second straight NFC West crown.

Greg Zuerlein helped the Rams along the way and sent them to the Super Bowl with a game-winning kick against the Saints. He wasn’t a Pro Bowler last season as he was in 2017, but Zuerlein still made 27 of 31 field goal attempts and only missed one extra point.

Heading into 2019, he still sees areas in which he can improve as he enters the final year of his contract.

“There is always things you [can] clean up,” Zuerlein told the Lincoln Journal-Star. “Going into fall camp in three weeks, I think I’m ready to get started and see what happens.”

His game-winning kick against the Saints in the NFC championship was months ago, but it’s not a moment he’ll soon forget.

“Making that kick — I’ll never forget that,” Zuerlein said. “Just the excitement in the locker room — being around the guys after winning those games is second to none. It’s something no other person gets to experience in that locker room.

“It’s unbelievable and I don’t know how to describe it.”
