Greg Taylor OUT of Celtic's Hampden semi-final with hamstring injury resulting in 'few weeks' out

Greg Taylor is OUT of Celtic's Hampden semi-final showdown with Kilmarnock due to a hamstring injury.

The Hoops left-back was forced off early on in the Old Firm derby thriller with Rangers at Ibrox on Monday and it has now been confirmed he has a slight issue. It is not a serious injury that will keep the Scotland international out long-term but enough that he will at least miss the back-to-back games against his former club starting tomorrow at Parkhead.

Sead Haksabanovic is also missing from the Premiership clash at Parkhead as are both Stephen Welsh and James McCarthy. Celtic will be bidding to go 12 points clear of nearest rivals Rangers ahead of their trip to Dundee United on Sunday. The Scottish champions are unbeaten since the World Cup shutdown return with the 2-2 derby draw their first dropped points since the action resumed.

Providing an injury update on Taylor, Ange Postecoglou said: "Greg has got a slight hamstring [injury] so we got a scan. It's not too serious but he will definitely miss a couple of weeks."

On his other injured stars, he added: "In terms of the ones returning, they are all closer but none are available for [Saturday].

Taylor has been a key player under Postecoglou and arguably one of Celtic's players of the season to date. He's featured 25 times in all competitions and provided two goals and two assists.

His absence could hand an opportunity for Alexandro Bernabei to impress.
