Greg Taylor fired Celtic transfer 'reminder' as Kilmarnock star closes in on move

Stephen O’Donnell has watched on with pride as the little man earned a big move to Celtic .

Now the right-back has warned former Kilmarnock team-mate Greg Taylor not to get too big for his boots.

O’Donnell admits he will miss his Rugby Park pal.

Although the Killie defender is still hopeful of rooming with Taylor during Scotland international get-togethers.

However, O’Donnell joked he retains the bragging rights over Taylor and he will gently remind him he was a Hoops player long before him.

Ironically on a day when Taylor was all but clinching his switch to Celtic, O’Donnell was also grabbing the limelight as his scruffy 40th-minute goal was enough to hand Kilmarnock boss Angelo Alessio his first Premiership win.

O’Donnell said: “The Greg Taylor stuff is out of our control. It is a great move if he gets it.

“He does not owe Kilmarnock anything.

“He has worked his backside off since he came and has been a great servant for the past four seasons, an ever-present. I was actually quite sad not to see Greg in the warm-up for the Saints game.

“I will still see him with Scotland. I am hoping to room with him although if he ‘pies me’ for the Celtic boys I will know he has changed.

“I’ll just have to remind him I was at Celtic first!”
