Greg Taylor fee agreed by Celtic and Kilmarnock with no players going to Rugby Park

Celtic have thrashed out a straight cash deal for Kilmarnock’s Greg Taylor.

The Scotland international was left sweating over his Parkhead move as Calvin Miller and Jack Hendry dithered on a switch in the opposite direction.

But Celtic, rather than let the deal run too close to the deadline, have agreed to go for a straight cash transaction as Neil Lennon is set for a signing boost.

Kilmarnock left back Taylor had already agreed terms and did a medical on Saturday.

He had to get permission from Scotland manager to sign and complete the paperwork to finalise the deal before tonight’s deadline.

The 22-year-old had already been the subject of failed bids from Sunderland and German side Nurnberg.

Taylor isn't the only defender to leave Kilmarnock today with Kirk Broadfoot being released.

The former Rangers centre back is expected to join St Mirren while Angelo Alessio wants to sign Graham Dorrans after his release from Rangers.
