Greg Robinson confirms he’s being benched as the Browns left tackle

Greg Robinson is out as the Cleveland Browns starting left tackle. The veteran confirmed that to reporters after Friday’s practice session.

The question now becomes, who is the starter?

The popular notion, though one not yet declared by the Browns themselves, is Justin McCray taking over for Robinson. That’s the name Nate Ulrich of Ohio.com suggested, and it makes the most sense. McCray played some right tackle in relief of Chris Hubbard earlier this season, even though he’s primarily played guard throughout his career.

Kendall Lamm also makes sense, but he remains questionable with a knee injury he suffered after just four plays in Week 1. Lamm was the starting left tackle for the Houston Texans last season before joining the Browns as a free agent.

Changes on the offensive line have been a popular topic of conversation during the Browns’ bye week. Coach Freddie Kitchens has struggled to avoid making any declaration one way or the other. It appears he has indeed made a change heading into the matchup with the defending champions.
