Greg Hardy makes no excuses for UFC Fight Night 183 loss: ‘I am far from complete’

Greg Hardy knows he’s still got a long way to go after being put away inside the distance for the first time at UFC Fight Night 183.

Hardy (7-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) suffered the most definitive of his few early career losses Saturday when he was put on his back and punched into a TKO stoppage by Marcin Tybura (21-6 MMA, 8-5 UFC) in their heavyweight matchup at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Although Hardy showed growth on the feet in the first round, his improvements didn’t stretch to the grappling department – at least not enough to hang with Tybura.

It was a new experience for Hardy, who’d never succumbed to a finish in his career prior. He took it in stride, though, and vowed to level up his game going forward (via Instagram):

Gotta take my Ls like a man. Always have and always will. I have become a much better fighter but I am far from complete #tentoesdown this loss is deff on me, my coach’s and team are the best in the world. It’s on me to make adjustments.

With the loss, Hardy had a two-fight winning streak snapped after beating Maurice Greene and Yorgan De Castro earlier this year.

Tybura, for his part, has a four-fight winning streak and appears to be on an upward trajectory in the heavyweight division.
