JAGUARS (4-8) at TITANS (6-6)
Line: TEN by 4
Cote's pick: TEN 16-13
TV: 8:20 p.m., Fox
NFL Week 14 launches with a cringe-worthy matchup you'll likely only watch if you have money riding on the outcome or if your fantasy playoff run is relying on Marcus Mariota because you're in a 35-team league. (Or perhaps if you're a Dolfan rooting for a Titans loss to advance Miami's playoff bid). Tennessee and Jacksonville have the 28th- and 30th-ranked scoring offenses. The over/under is 37 but should look like a shoe size. Titans beat Jags 9-6 in Week 3. It isn't just two bad offenses, though. Both teams also have playoff-caliber defenses, so fans of punting may be in for a treat. This pick leans clearly and heavily on venue. Titans are strong at home (4-1 this year, 10-2 run in past dozen), while Jags wilt away (1-4 this year, 2-12 in past 14 division roadies). Tenners have also won five of past six in this rivalry and four in a row in Nashville. Having said all that, I give Jax a medium outright upset shot. That and the probability of a low-scoring night decided by a field goal makes the bet-line feel a point fat.
