Greg Cote's Thursday night NFL pick

PACKERS (4-4-1) at SEAHAWKS (4-5)

Line: SEA by 2 {.

Cote's pick: SEA 27-24.

TV: 8:20 p.m., Fox/NFL.

This is weird. NFL Week 11 sets sail with what feels like a marquee matchup but is actually two mediocre-record teams scrambling to stay alive on the outer edge of a densely packed NFC playoff race. Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson meeting in Seattle reprises the 2014 conference championship game, but four years later the Gee Bees come in 0-4 on the road while the Seabirds are a mere 1-2 on their once-impenetrable home field. Still, both teams are better than their records suggest and I'd look for a wildly compelling game. And one that, despite the spotlight on Rodgers/Wilson, may be won by the infantry. Pack RB Aaron Jones ripped Miami to ribbons last week and averages 6.8 per carry, Seattle leads King Sport averaging 152 ground yards per game, and neither run defense is anything special. Here's two trends that tip the pick for me: Green Bay has lost six straight roadies dating to last season, and Seattle's stout track record in prime time includes a 7-1 run on Thursday nights.
