JETS (0-1) at BILLS (0-1)
Line: Even.
Cote's pick: NYJ, 24-20.
TV: 8:25 p.m. Thursday, CBS/NFL.
Buffalo opened as a 2 {-point favorite, fueled by Bills' five-game win streak in this AFC East grudge, but heavy wagering on NYJ pushed the line to pick 'em _ and I get that. Jets defense is mostly solid and had seven sacks in narrow loss to Cincy last week. Bills offense was putrid in loss to Baltimore, and now will be missing injured left tackle Cordy Glenn and also perhaps top wideout Sammy Watkins (foot), who is iffy. Jets also own revenge factor after getting knocked from playoff spot in loss to Bills in '15 season finale. Look for Tyrod Taylor (if given time) to open it up after Andy Dalton hit Planes' pass-D pretty hard last week. "Over" could be a good play on low points line of 40.5. Two quick notes on Buffs coach Rex Ryan: 1) He's having his lapband taken out to show solidarity with brother Rob, who had to have his removed. So take a pic of Thin Rex; he won't last. 2) In a team-produced documentary on Ryan that aired this week in Buffalo he is seen telling his Bills, "I'm going to tell you we're the [expletive] best because I believe it." Most impressively, he said it with a straight face!
