No arrests have been made in connection to the incident.

The victim has not been identified and Scotland Yard said this would be done formally "in due course".

A post-mortem examination will also be conducted and work is being conducted to contact the man's family.

The incident came just hours after a fatal stabbing in north east London, when a young man was stabbed dead in broad daylight in Clarence Mews, Lower Clapton.

Anyone with information which may help the Greenwich investigation is asked to call police quoting CAD 836 / 6 Dec.
