Two boys stabbed to death in south-east London

Two boys, both aged 16, have died near Greenwich on Saturday evening following a double stabbing.

A murder investigation is underway after Metropolian Police found the teenagers, each with stab wounds, in separate locations around a mile apart just after 5pm.

One boy was found on Sewell Road, Abbey Wood and the second on Titmuss Avenue in Thamesmead.

Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, both teenagers were pronounced dead, the Met said in a statement.

“Crime scenes are in place at both locations and an investigation into the deaths of both males is under way.

“Their next of kin will be provided with support from specialist officers.

“Given the proximity in time and distance of the incidents, officers will be seeking to urgently establish any link between them.”

A Section 60 order, providing officers with additional search powers, is in place until 8am on Sunday.
