Greenpeace has projected a golden “Trump Tower” onto the European Commission HQ in Brussels ahead of an EU summit on Thursday (19 March).
The environmental group said that they are protesting against the EU’s dependence on US gas and oil imports. “Trump wants to dominate Europe, and so far most European politicians seem to let him have his way, so we’re helping them redecorate,” said EU political campaigner Ariadna Rodrigo.
The group urged the EU to “resist Trump’s agenda of chaos and cruelty” and called on them to condemn his recent actions.
It comes as the 27 leaders of the bloc gathered to discuss the Iran conflict and the resulting increase in energy prices, as well as Hungary's continued veto on the €90 billion loan for Ukraine.
