Greenock firebomb cops arrest man in connection with blaze at property in town

Cops confirmed a man was arrested in connection with a blaze at a property in Greenock.

The 21-year-old man was questioned on Friday, October 16 following a deliberate fire at a house in Kincaid Court last month.

Police say he was later released pending further investigations.

Emergency services raced to  Kincaid Court  at around 10pm on September 28 after reports of the fire.

Flames could be seen erupting from the window of a ground floor flat on the residential street as firefighters tackled the explosion.

No one was injured in the blaze.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers arrested a 21-year-old man in Lanarkshire on Friday, 16 October, in connection with a wilful fireraising that happened in Kincaid Court in Greenock, on Monday, 28 September.

“The man was later released pending further investigations and enquiries are ongoing.”
