Greenisland home of woman in her 90s ransacked during burglary

The home of a woman in her 90s was ransacked during a burglary in Co Antrim.

The culprits gained entry to the house on Upper Road in Greenisland and cash, medication and a number of items of jewellery were reported to have been taken

Detectives are appealing for information and said the incident was reported to them on Friday evening, July 9.

Detective Constable Gardiner said: “A report was received at approximately 6.30pm yesterday (Friday 9th July) that entry had been gained to the home of lady aged in her 90s.

“The house was ransacked, and cash, medication and a number of items of jewellery were reported to have been taken.

“An investigation has been launched, and police are appealing for information and witnesses. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the area from between one and three pm yesterday (Friday) afternoon.

“Please contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1736 of 09/07/21.”
