The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has announced that up to 7,000 football fans will be able to watch a screening of the tournament's historic final at Trafalgar Square on Sunday

9.3 million viewers tuned in to watch the semi-finals, not accounting for those in pubs or at larger gatherings- even more people are anticipated to be watching on Sunday.

Faye Nixon, marketing manager for Greene King Sport said: “The Women’s Euros has been nothing short of fantastic. The team has broken so many records and we’re all thrilled they’ve made it to the final.

“Whatever happens on Sunday, it’s important we don’t just see this as a one-off moment for women’s sport. We need to do everything we can to continue the buzz that has followed this tournament and inspire the next generation of women in sport.”

Wendy Hawk, Head of Communications and Engagement at Women in Sport also said: “The Lionesses are making history and change is happening both at the elite and the grassroots.

“We are grateful that Greene King are supporting this success in their pubs and their communities right across the UK.

“Together we can inspire a generation and ensure the women’s Euros creates a legacy for the future.”
