The green list for travel has been announced by Transport Secretary Grant Shapps at a Downing Street press conference.
Mr Shapps confirmed that international travel could resume from May 17 as expected under the roadmap out of lockdown.
12 countries have initially been placed on the green list, Mr Shapps said that Portugal, Gibraltar and Israel will be on the list.
The green list also consists of Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Brunei, Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
This is in addition to the remote territories of the Falklands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, Saint Helena, Ascension Island and Tristan da Cunha.
The full list is:
Australia
Brunei
Faroe Islands
Falkland Islands
Gibraltar
Iceland
Israel
New Zealand
Portugal including Madeira and Azores
Singapore
Despite being on the green list, people will not be able to go on holiday to Australia, New Zealand or Singapore as they are closed to UK tourists.
Travellers arriving back from countries on the green list will not have to quarantine when they get back to the UK, but they will still have to be tested for coronavirus.
Holidaymakers coming back from green countries have to have a negative covid test within 72 hours or departure and then they have to pay for a PCR test on of before the second day of their return to the UK, even if they're vaccinated.
Most of Europe and the rest of the world has been placed on the amber list for travel initially.
France, Spain and Greece are on the amber list currently but Mr Shapps said the list would be reviewed every three weeks and they could be added soon.
People returning from an amber country will have to self-isolate at home for 10 days. They will still have to take a pre-departure test and pay for two PCR tests on day two and eight of their quarantine.
They can leave quarantine if they pay for another PCR test on day five of their isolation, but still have to take a test on day eight as well.
