Green light given for city centre salon to be turned into new restaurant

Glasgow City Council have given the green light for a city centre salon to be converted into a new restaurant.

Plans for the premises at 96 St Vincent Street, the site of Toni & Guy, were submitted in April of this year.

The proposals include for the restaurant to be set over two levels, with space for approximately 50 diners on the ground floor and 60 on the first.

Details of who might occupy the restaurant haven't been divulged in the documents submitted to the council.

The application for the space, which forms part of a listed building, centred around a: "change of use of the building from Class 1 (hairdresser) to class 3 (restaurant use), including erection of a kitchen extract duct on the rear (St. Martys Lane) elevation of the building."

The new restaurant will sit between the Bread Meats Bread and Pizza Punks restaurants in Glasgow city centre.

To see the application in full, you can visit the Glasgow City Council website, here.
