Green light for new homes in north London

L&Q has won outline consent for its proposed redevelopment of the former Middlesex University campus at Cat Hill in Cockfosters, north London.

L&Q will build 232 homes on the Cat Hill site, and will implement a 25-year woodland management plan to conserve valuable mature and veteran oak trees across the site and encourage native woodland species.

Andy Rowland, L&Q's land and projects director, said: "We are very pleased that the London borough of Enfield's planning committee has approved our plans for Cat Hill.

"We will build well-designed homes that match the character of the local area. As long-term stewards of the Cat Hill ponds, we will manage the woodland and boost species diversity.

"We look forward to working with the council, residents and other stakeholders to take the plans forward."
