Green light for more than £360,000 in funding for Paisley-based Engage Renfrewshire

More than £360,000 in grant funding for Engage Renfrewshire has been given the green light by councillors.

The organisation is a third sector interface (TSI), meaning it supports charities and other not-for-profit groups in the area.

Elected members considered a report at a leadership board meeting, which detailed the allocation put together for this financial year.

It said: "This paper outlines proposals for the allocation of £360,610 of grant funding to Engage Renfrewshire for 2023/24.

"Together with annual core Scottish Government funding and wider income generation, this grant funding enables Engage Renfrewshire to provide a range of activities and supports across the area and to operate as Renfrewshire’s third sector interface organisation."

The recommendation to approve the funding was agreed at the meeting.

Engage Renfrewshire provides services to support the operation and growth of community and voluntary sector organisations in the local authority.

It helps groups build capacity by offering information, advice and training on topics ranging from charitable structures to funding.

The TSI also assists organisations who have volunteers with recruitment and support and works with individuals to find them rewarding and uplifting volunteering opportunities.

It is based at the Engage Hub, which is located in the Ferguslie Park area of Paisley.
