More Dumfries and Galloway school pupils to return to classes from March 15.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has given the green light to more of the region’s schoolchildren return to classes unless new evidence forces a rethink.
On March 15, pupils in primaries four through to seven will be allowed back for the first time this year.
Pupils in S4, S5 and S6 will be given priority to return to secondary schools from that date.
The remaining secondary pupils will return full-time after the school holidays - although they will spend some time in classes before then.
The move follows the return of kids in primaries one, two and three last week, with a limited return of senior students who needed to be in school to complete course work.
The first minister has hinted some aspects of restrictions being lifted could be brought forward..
Ms Sturgeon said: "We will be considering if it might be possible to accelerate the exit from lockdown in any way."
April 26 is due to be the date for pubs and restaurants being allowed to reopen, but it is also set to see a return to the tiered system, with the intention being for all of mainland Scotland to be moved to at least level three.
However, tougher criteria will be used than when the system was previously introduced in November using guidance from the World Health Organisation.
Dumfries and Galloway’s current test positivity rate, as well as the rate of cases among the population, would see it put at level two.
That would allow hotels and other accommodation to reopen and people to move between level two areas.
There are currently six people in hospital and less than five in intensive care.
