A new housing development in Maybole has been given the green light.
The estate will be sited on the same area of green space that was given planning permission for housing back in 2008 but had since come to nothing.
The earlier plan for 20 houses was approved but was allowed to expire. A more recent application was withdrawn over concerns raised by the Ayrshire Roads Alliance.
This proposal would see 22 amenity houses for Ayrshire Housing and will be a mixture of houses and flats with private gardens.
Communal open space and a total of 35 parking spaces are proposed.
One objector raised concerns about the impact on wildlife.
South Ayrshire Council planners responded: "There are no designated natural heritage areas within the application site, and it is not anticipated that the development will adversely impact on natural heritage interests outwith the site."
The objector also said existing parking issues would be made worse by the new development and said it would impact their view.
Planners pointed out that a 'loss of view' is not a planning consideration and said: "It is considered that there is a sufficient separation distance retained between the application site and surrounding residential properties."
The application was approved by officers under delegated powers.
