Volunteers dug deep to make sure that St Leonards was blooming marvellous - even if we are heading in to winter.
East Kilbride Community Litter Pickers previously looked out their spades to answer a call from help from organiser of St Leonards in Bloom, Avril Anderson.
The raised beds in the square had become unkempt with piles of litter also thrown in to them.
Health issues meant Avril wasn't able to tend to the planters, but the litter pickers not only cleared the rubbish but proved to have green fingers.
They promised to keep on top of any work, and sure enough, they returned recently.

Avril told Lanarkshire Live : "We would like to thank Margaret McDonald and Pauline Moscardini of the East Kilbride litter pickers for their hard work clearing and tidying the planters in the square then planting for the autumn and winter.
"This will make the place cheery for shoppers passing by and hopefully school children and others will use the litter bins and not the planters for their rubbish.

"They were helped by Max McGhie and his two support workers, Lauren and Rachel. everyone involved in St Leonards in Bloom appreciated their help and hard work and to the passers-by in the square - enjoy.
