Green Brigade send Celtic and Peter Lawwell a message with banner slamming lengthy manager search

Celtic fan group the Green Brigade have revealed a banner slamming outgoing chief executive Peter Lawwell for the time it has taken to appoint the club's next manager.

The wait for Neil Lennon's successor rolled on to day 100 on Friday with the Irish boss departing more than three months ago on February 24.

It was widely expected that the role would be filled by former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe after weeks of widespread reports that the 43-year-old was ready to make the move to Parkhead.

But talks collapsed after months of negotiations with Howe's proposed backroom team said to be a particular sticking point.

Greek-born Australian gaffer Ange Postecoglou, former Socceroos national coach and now in charge of Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan, has emerged as the new frontrunner.

But frustrated supporters face another delay in finding out the new boss as Celtic have applied for an exemption to UEFA regarding Postecoglou's coaching qualifications.

And the ultras group have clearly had enough as they took to the Celtic Way outside the ground to display the latest banner.

Fans have resonated with their past displays including a mocked-up Zoom call claiming Lawwell and main shareholder Dermot Desmond had "lost connection" with the support.

Celtic are due back for pre-season on June 17 and face a first Champions League qualifier on July 20/21.
