Green Brigade release flag day Celtic tifo statement

Celtic ultras group, the Green Brigade, have released a statement ahead of the club's return to competitive action this weekend.

Brendan Rodgers' men welcome St Mirren to Parkhead on Sunday as they unfurl yet another league flag.

Ahead of the match, the fan group have released a statement, confirming a pre-match TIFO in the Lisbon Lions stand, followed by another in the North Curve at the start of the second half.

They are in honour of Lisbon Lions John Clark and John Fallon, who both recently passed away.

"As we unfurl the League Flag on Sunday, as a celebration of last season's triumph and a statement of intent for the coming season, the memory of two Celtic giants will be at the forefront," the Green Brigade wrote on X.

"For the 2nd half, there will be a 2nd tifo encompassing the North Curve. Importantly, we ask all fans in the North Curve to KEEP and REUSE their material from the 1st tifo for the 2nd tifo.

"As always, we thank all fans for their cooperation and for helping us to mark special moments for our legends, their families, our club and the fans."

Kick-off is at 4.30pm on Sunday as Celtic aim to start the season on a positive note.
