TEAM NEEDS

Dan Powers/Wisconsin via USA TODAY NETWORK

Free Safety

The Packers added Adrian Amos in free agency, adding a reliable veteran to a secondary that desperately needed exactly that. While Amos is a valuable piece to have in run support, he isn’t exactly the flashiest safety, and his range is relatively average. His style of play was complemented very well in Chicago by Eddie Jackson, and while it’s unlikely that Green Bay will find someone who can be as good as Jackson right away, adding a rangy and athletic free safety with ball skills can not only get the best out of Amos, but add another young piece to an up-and-coming secondary.

Tight End

Green Bay has lacked stability at the tight end position for years now, and Jimmy Graham proved last year that he isn’t the answer to their revolving door. With three selections within the first 45 picks of the draft, the Packers have the draft capital to invest in one of this year’s numerous young, dynamic tight ends. While adding another wide receiver to partner up with Davante Adams could also be in the cards early, having a dominant force at tight end would help make Aaron Rodgers’ job easier.

Inside Linebacker

Jake Ryan tore his ACL during training camp last season and signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in March, leaving the Packers with a hole at inside linebacker alongside Blake Martinez. The Stanford alum is a physical and hard-nose thumper, so Green Bay would be wise to complement him with a more athletic linebacker who has more range in coverage. Drafting a speedy off-ball linebacker could add some more firepower to a Packers defense that drastically improved in free agency.
