Famous Greek gyros have arrived in Ayrshire.
The latest favourite takeaway sensation is now being served up at an eaterie in what's believed to be a first for the region.
The dish, which mainly consists of a kebab meat, usually pork, is layered in a pitta bread with fresh onions, tomatoes and lettuce. Modern takes also include fries and tzatziki sauce.
Now Jaya's German Donner and Desserts in Ardrossan has started making the gut-busting snack for people hankering for the savoury treat.
Owner Jaya Singh, 30, told Ayrshire Live: "As far as I'm aware nobody else does this in Ayrshire.

"I know how popular they are in Glasgow and other places and I thought the people of Ayrshire would love it.

"I've only been open for a few months and we wanted to try something a little different.
"We import our donner meat from Germany, it is of the highest quality.

"We'll be serving the gyros with the usual things and people can get the choice of having it in a wrap, pita, naan bread or a Turkish bread."
Jaya's 'Original Greek Pork Gyros' at his Central Avenue shop is served with tzatziki sauce or 'Scottish garlic/chilli sauce' and fresh salad which consists of lettuce, onion, tomato and cabbage.
Jaya has only been running his takeaway for a few months and also owns shops in Greenock, Inverclyde and Glasgow.
