Hugh Jackman at Hydro: Greatest Showman star Keala Settle cries backstage after being overwhelmed by Glasgow fans

There wasn't a dry eye in the house at the SSE Hydro last night as Hugh Jackman finally took to the stage for his Greatest Showman spectacular.

And it wasn't just the thousands of delighted fans who were left overwhelmed by the incredible performance, as co-star Keala Settle was also spotted getting a wee bit emotional backstage.

One show insider told Glasgow Live the Tony award winning actress and the rest of the team behind the epic production were bowled over to be there as "it has been eight years in the making".

Our special eyewitness added: "She was backstage at the beginning of the show and started to cry when Hugh went on stage as she was so proud. The show has been eight years in the making and I think it paid off judging by the reaction from the crowd."

As reported by Glasgow Live last night, the cast caused a storm in the arena as the first of the three-night run of The Man. The Music. The Show tour kicked off here in Glasgow.

The audience were overjoyed when Hugh was joined on stage by Keala for the massive hit This is Me.

But it was Come Alive that got Keala going.

Our eyewitness added: "Keala cried again after she heard the Glasgow crowd were singing Come Alive. This all happened as she stood in a white dressing gown, no make up and a pair of fluffy slippers."
