Greatest Days: Take That's music to be adapted into a film

The music of Take That will be adapted into a new film called Greatest Days, based on the stage musical The Band.

The musical tells the story of a group of women who get back together to see their favourite (fictional) boy band after 25 years apart.

The Band used 16 of Take That's popular hits, and Take That are reportedly penning a new song for the film version.

According to the film's producer Danny Perkins, Take That are "excited about the idea of the film and are involved at every step".

He added: "there are more serious things to be concerned about right now but hopefully this can bring some joy once it can get going."

The producer compared the project to the hugely successful ABBA musical Mamma Mia, saying that he hoped Greatest Days could have "a similarly uplifting impact".

Coky Giedroyc, who directed the 2019 Caitlyn Moran adaptation How to Build A Girl, will direct the film.

Take That have had 12 No1 singles in the UK, including "Greatest Day", "Patience" and "Back For Good".
