Greatest Dancer Ellie is honoured at special Civic Reception

Ellie Ferguson, who was crowned the inaugural winner of BBC’s Greatest Dancer TV show has been honoured by West Lothian Council.

A civic reception was held to recognise the achievements of the West Calder High School Pupil who wowed audiences and the judges as she took home the top prize in the hit BBC dance competition.

The event held at West Lothian Civic Centre saw Provost Tom Kerr present Ellie with a congratulatory Silver Salver for Exceptional Achievement in Dance on behalf of West Lothian.

Provost Kerr said: “I was delighted to meet Ellie and congratulate her on her achievements on behalf of West Lothian. Ellie’s hard work and dedication makes her an inspiration to young people in West Lothian and her performances on the Greatest Dancer were truly amazing.

“All councillors agreed that it was simply fantastic that one so young could excel at such an outstanding level of dance professionalism. I’m sure it won’t be the last we hear of Ellie’s dancing exploits.”
