GREATER NOIDA: A 28-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the alleged dowry death of his wife who had jumped from the 8th floor of the building in a high-rise society of Greater Noida.
The suspect has been identified as Dev Sharan Sharma, a resident of Supertech Eco Village in Bisrakh.
“We received a call around 8.30pm on Sunday about a person lying in a pool of blood in the society premises. A police team rushed to the spot and the woman was taken to the hospital, where the doctors declared her brought dead,” said Anita Chauhan, SHO, Bisrakh police station.
Initially, during investigation, it had come to light that the woman had a quarrel over dowry with her husband before taking the extreme step. Following the incident, the woman’s family filed a complaint against Sharma alleging dowry death.
