Dark nights are finally here, Christmas adverts are on the TV, and now wintry weather is creeping upon us.
Temperatures in Greater Manchester are set to plummet over the next couple of days, after a rather mild and wet October, dropping to as low as 1C this week.
Wednesday evening will see temperatures of 7C by 8pm - but it will ‘feel like’ 5C.
The Met Office said for the North West: “Any showers will die away this evening to leave a dry night with often clear skies. Turning cold by morning with a touch of frost for many sheltered spots inland. Minimum temperature 1C.”

Thursday is set to be a crisp day. It will be a chilly start of 4C at 8am, and will only reach a high of 8C by midday, although it’ll seem more like 5C so wrap up warm.

Thursday evening will be particularly cold, with temperatures dropping to as low as 2C overnight in some parts of Greater Manchester.
It’s expected to be warm up a bit for the weekend, though, and will be a bit milder on Friday, with a high of 10C by 3pm, dropping to 9C overnight. Saturday should reach highs of 12C, with minimum temperatures overnight of 8C.
Forecasting for the end of the week, the Met Office added: “Dry for most on Friday with bright spells.
“Cloudy and windy on Saturday, with patchy rain and turning milder. Rain on Saturday night clears to fine, dry conditions on Sunday.”
