Manchester is set for a warm Easter weekend after a wet and cold start to April. Although we probably won’t see wall to wall sunshine, we can look forward to a dry bank holiday weekend.

Temperatures could rise to 20C on Good Friday, according to Weather.com. Saturday and Sunday can expect highs of 19C and 18C respectively.

There will be some sunny intervals on Friday afternoon, while Saturday will be mostly cloudy. Bank holiday Monday could see showers in the morning, with a high of 17C predicted.

Over the next couple of days temperatures will gradually increase, and the weather will become more settled but will stay cloudy. According to the Met Office, temperatures will rise to 14C on Wednesday with sunny intervals expected in the early evening after an overcast start.

Forecasting Wednesday's weather for the North West, the Met Office said: “Skies will be cloudy this morning with some patchy light rain. The rain will clear and the cloud will gradually break this afternoon to give some warm sunny spells. Maximum temperature 15C.”

It’s set to become warmer on Thursday, although it will remain cloudy. Temperatures could reach 17C by mid afternoon.

Predicting the weather for the weekend in the North West, the Met Office added: “Mostly dry into the Easter weekend. Occasionally cloudy during the mornings, but turning brighter through the day, with just a small chance of an afternoon shower. Warm in the sun.”
