Clouds continue to dominate the skies over Greater Manchester today (Friday 13 May) but brighter weather - and higher temperatures topping 20C - are just around the corner.
Friday the 13th might be unlucky for some, but conditions will remain dry and pleasant across our region. The clouds will break up eventually, bringing warm, sunny intervals throughout the day, with highs of 18C.
It will remain dry into the evening, but will turn 'chilly in the countryside' with a minimum temperature of 4C overnight, according to the Met Office. Mancunians can expect to wake up to a glorious day on Saturday, with periods of uninterrupted sunshine, and some sunny intervals, forecast throughout the whole day.

Light winds are also forecast, but it will feel 'warm in the strong sunshine,' with temperatures hitting 20C. In the south of England, highs could stretch to 25C, thanks to a a high pressure system coming in from North Africa, reports the Mirror.
Unfortunately, the brilliant weather will be short-lived. The rain will to return in Greater Manchester from around 10am on Sunday until the early evening, with the clouds dominating skies yet again.
The Met Office did reassure, however, that it would feel 'warm in any brighter spells where the cloud breaks.' Temperatures will peak at 17C. However showers will continue into the first half of next week, too - despite temperatures soaring to 21C on Wednesday (May 18).
Light showers are forecast throughout the day on Monday and Tuesday, continuing into the small hours of Wednesday morning. There's a chance of heavy and thundery showers at times, too. The rain is forecast to clear up by late Wednesday morning, but it won't stay dry for long, with the showers returning by the evening.
