Greater Manchester Transport's brutal attempt to troll Chelsea ahead of Man United clash

The 2019/20 Premier League season is barely 24 hours old and the taunting has already begun.

Arguably the biggest game taking place across the opening weekend of the new campaign is Chelsea's trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

A number of years ago this would have been a meeting between two title contenders.

But it's likely the two teams will be battling for a top four spot alongside Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal throughout the season.

With that said, there's still an edge to Manchester United vs Chelsea.

So much so that the Greater Manchester Transport have attempted to troll Blues supporters making the trip to the 'Theatre of Dreams'.

As spotted on Reddit , a traffic sign in the area will get fans talking.

It reads: 'United v Chelsea. Old Trafford. Sun 11 Aug. 1630. No Hazard (s) expected on Metrolink.

An obvious subtle dig at the fact that the Frank Lampard's side will make the trip from west London without Eden Hazard following his big money move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Despite this, Lampard is excited for the trip to Old Trafford and is hopeful of a repeat from when his Derby County side visited in the Carabao Cup last season.

"I certainly would," he said. "Well, we drew the game and won it on penalties.

"But it's completely different, it was a nice experience, I always enjoy playing at Old Trafford, incredible stadium, incredible history and always a difficult match, no matter what year or what team you went up against.

"Of course it's a completely different thing now. I suppose we might be in similar stages in a way in that people will talk about Ole and now I think it's his real chance to make a stamp on that team with a window and a pre-season behind him.

"And i'm trying to make a stamp here so it makes for a competitive match."
