Greater Manchester ticketholder claims £1m Lotto prize

One extremely lucky ticketholder has claimed the £1million National Lottery prize that was up for grabs in Tameside.

The winner was able to match five main numbers and the Bonus Ball for the Lotto draw on Saturday, March 11. Camelot has confirmed that a claim for the prize money passed the validation check and has now been paid.

It is up to the ticket holder whether or not they want to go public and share their story. Otherwise, we may never find out who the individual was that won a life-changing amount of money.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said, “What amazing news for this lucky ticket-holder who has claimed their amazing prize. We will now focus on supporting the ticket-holder through the process and help them to begin their life-changing journey.

“Players can buy and check their tickets online by downloading the National Lottery app or at national-lottery.co.uk. Players can also buy and check tickets in retail. Playing online via the app or website means that your ticket is checked, and you get an email notification if you win a prize. You can also scan your retail tickets on the National Lottery app to check if you're a winner.”

Previously, the ticket holder had 180 days from the draw to claim the prize. If it wasn't claimed then the money would have gone towards funding the National Lottery's good causes.
