Greater Manchester's hospitals record further 23 coronavirus deaths

A further 23 coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded at Greater Manchester's hospitals.

It means the region's hospital death toll now stands at 3,725.

Both Bolton NHS Foundation Trust and Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust recorded a further seven deaths.

There were two further deaths recorded at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.

Three deaths were recorded at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust.

The death toll now stands at 3,725 (PA)

The total number of coronavirus deaths at hospital trusts in Greater Manchester, as of Thursday, December 3, are:

  • Bolton NHS Foundation Trust - 396 (+7)
  • Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust - 9
  • Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust - 683 (+2)
  • NHS Nightingale Hospital North West - 6
  • Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust -1,053 (+7)
  • Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust - 7
  • Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust - 318 (+2)
  • Stockport NHS Foundation Trust - 317 (+2)
  • Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust - 412
  • The Christie NHS Foundation Trust - 18
  • Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust - 506 (+3)

A further 295 people, who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospitals in England.

It brings the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 41,605.

A statement from NHS England said: "Patients were aged between 39 and 99 years old.

"All except 11 (aged 53 to 91 years old) had known underlying health conditions."

The date of death ranges from October 24 to December 2, with the majority being on or after November 30.

Their families have been informed.
